Can JoyPDF convert old .doc files to PDF?

JoyPDF accepts .docx (Office Open XML), not legacy binary .doc from Word 97-2003. Open the .doc in Word, LibreOffice, or Google Docs and Save As .docx, then convert here. Renaming .doc to .docx does not work - the internal format differs. If you only have .doc and no Office, LibreOffice Writer opens most .doc files for export to .docx first. This limitation matches many browser-based converters that skip legacy OLE formats for security and complexity reasons.

Will my Word formatting survive conversion to PDF?

Standard body text, headings, bullet lists, and simple tables usually survive well because JoyPDF renders DOCX structure rather than plain text. Challenges appear with multi-column sections, text boxes, floating images, and advanced WordArt - layout may shift versus Word on your PC. Custom fonts not embedded in DOCX substitute with system fallbacks. Always open the PDF and compare page breaks before a court deadline or print run. For pixel-perfect brand brochures, export from InDesign or Word's own PDF printer as a benchmark.

Are comments and track changes included in the PDF?

JoyPDF renders visible document content from the DOCX - comments balloons and track-change markup depend on whether Word saved them as visible revision data. Often the clean export omits comment sidebar content unless still marked visible in the file. Accept or reject changes in Word before converting if you must not leak edit history. Inspect the PDF zoomed in. Metadata like author name may remain in PDF properties - scrub in Word File Properties if anonymity matters.

Is my DOCX uploaded when converting to PDF?
